The UAE has introduced Corporate Tax (CT) as part of its commitment to align with global tax standards while maintaining its competitive business environment. Effective from June 1, 2023, Corporate Tax applies to companies and businesses operating in the UAE.
Running a business in the UAE? Don’t miss the essential step of registering for Corporate Tax with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). The process is straightforward—gather your trade license, company documents, and owner details, then apply through the EmaraTax portal. Once registered, you’ll receive your Tax Registration Number (TRN), which keeps your business compliant and ready for smooth operations under the new tax system.
Who Needs to Register for Corporate Tax?
Corporate Tax applies to
-UAE-incorporated companies and businesses.
-Free Zone entities (though they may enjoy 0% CT if they meet qualifying criteria).
-Foreign legal entities with a Permanent Establishment in the UAE.
– Individuals conducting business activities under a commercial license.
Steps to Register for Corporate Tax in the UAE
1️⃣ Prepare Documents – Trade license, MOA/AOA, Passport & Emirates ID of owners, company contact details, financials (if available).
2️⃣ Create EmaraTax Account – Register on the FTA EmaraTax portal using email & ID/Passport (VAT registrants can use the same account).
3️⃣ Submit Application – Log in, select Corporate Tax Registration, fill in business details, upload documents, review & submit.
4️⃣ Get TRN – FTA issues a Tax Registration Number (TRN) confirming your company is registered under UAE Corporate Tax.
